The 16th of July was an exciting day in motoring, Land Rover’s Defender and Porsche’s Taycan we’re launched in South Africa and in Modena Maserati took the first step toward electric vehicles with the launch of the hybrid Ghibli.
The Ghibli’ is powered by a 48-volt hybrid powertrain, with regenerative-braking. It has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an electric supercharger. The result is 242 kW and 450 Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Maserati claim a 0 to 100 sprint in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 254 kph.
In order to distinguish the hybrid models, Maserati is using a light-blue highlight in various areas. On the Ghibli it is found on the side air vents, the brake calipers, and the trident on the c pillars. Hybrid models are also distinguished with a slimmer front grille design and updated taillights.
The light blue from the exterior elements also finds its way onto embroidered tridents and seams of the Ghibli’s seats. The Ghibli hybrid gets a new 10.0-inch touchscreen with the new Maserati Connect program.
